So I had a busy weekend.
First off, congrats to my best bud, Missy and Chad. They got married this weekend.
After the wedding, J and I headed down to Somerset to do some visiting. I wish we would have had more time, but we also had a very important meeting scheduled. A meeting of our new little "fur baby" . . .
That adorable little baby I am holding is Adie. She will be joining or family in the next couple of weeks. Zedd has been informed that he will be getting a little sister, but I don't think he believes it. I know that bringing a new puppy into the house will be hard on him and he will probably have his cute little nose out of joint for a while, but I hope he gets over it quickly. I do love my Z-dog and would hate for him to be mad at me for long. I hope he realizes he'll have a friend of his very own to play with all the time and not be upset.
There are 4 total puppies in the litter, one little boy and three girls. Let me tell you they were a sight all together and cute as can be! They are trying to master the whole walking thing (especially on hardwood floors!) and they wobble a bit every now and again. They play and Izzy runs the show. It was dinner time while we were there . . .
From left to right, the puppies are: Daisy, Ivy, Izzy (or Is he? as in "Dad's taking two puppies" "Is he?" ), and last but not least Adie. They made a mess and had a good time making it. We really can't wait to bring Adie home!
Now on to other things . . . like knitting.
On April 5th, The Yarn Harlot came to Lex. It was a blast!! Knitting Momma Kim and I went. A few of the 127 knitters were there, we saved seats for all but only needed a few. :( That's okay, we met a couple new knitters from out of town. The Harlot gave a wonderfully entertaining speech then signed books and posed for pictures. After the fun times at the book signing, a handful of us knitterly people grabbed some dinner then called it a night. (albeit a fun one!)
That would be Knitting Momma Kim and Me. We are waiting for the even to start. I think we were the 2nd and 3rd people there.
AND . . . That would be me and The Yarn Harlot and her traveling sock.
I've gotten a few thing accomplished. I finished by mini sweater. I don't have any final outcome pics yet. They are kinda hard to take of yourself in a sweater. Especially when you have no stinkin clue how to work the timer thing on the camera! I'll just have to wait and have J do it.
I did get a picture of the hat I made. It's the Cabled Newsboys Cap from SnB Nation. It was a quick knit and was really cute.
A while ago my Momma Lesa asked for some socks. She didn't care what kind, nor did she have a yarn preference. Only request, was blue. So, ask and ye shall receive! I am making Monkey socks for her. (pattern is on Knitty.com) I ordered her special yarn from Blue Moon Fiber Arts. (Might I add that they are an awesome place to order from with BEAUTIFUL yarn to choose from. I can't wait to find a reason to order from them again!!) I got her the Socks That Rock lightweight in Lucy in the Sky. Here are Momma's socks so far . . .
With that, I think I'm out of pictures and projects to post. I need to ponder some future knitting projects of the Harry Potter variety. My little cousin (we'll call him H), is making his way through the Harry Potter books. (He's at the start of the 4th) I think H needs some Gryffindor inspiration. Then if I do that, his little brother (C) will need something too. C tells me his favorite house is Hufflepuff. I don't think there will be scarves made, scarves take TOO long. Well, honestly . . . I take too long on them because they are repetitive.
I'll have to see what I can come up with . . .
